Purpose
We will use personal data exclusively for the management of the association (identity of the member, information for payments, evaluation of the communication policy, etc.). The data is necessary and will be retained for as long as you are a member of the association, as indicated in the section ‘Conservation’.
The e-mail address and user name will be used for sending information through general mailing lists. Specific, thematic, temporary, etc. mailing lists will require a prior request from the member.
The current account number shall be used if the member requests direct debit of membership fees.
Legitimation
Article 14 of Organic Law 1/2002, of 22 March, regulating the Right of Association, requires ‘to have an updated list of its members, to keep accounts that give a true and fair view of the assets, results and financial situation of the organisation, as well as the activities carried out, to keep an inventory of its assets and to record in a book the minutes of the meetings of its governing and representative bodies’.
Likewise, Wikimedia Spain’s Bylaws include as an obligation of the members, in article 26: ‘7. To report any change in their personal data or situation that may affect internal communications with them or their status as a member’.
Adresses
Members’ personal data will be shared only in cases where the member participates in any type of event or activity covered by civil liability or accident insurance, for which purpose it will be shared with the insurance company in charge of the processing.
Conservation
In general, we will process your personal data for as long as it is necessary for the purpose for which you gave it to us, mainly for as long as you remain a member of Wikimedia Spain.
In any case, after the end of the relationship, we will keep your personal data properly blocked for an interval of five years. In accordance with the legal provisions, we will only keep them:
- To comply with the legal obligations of Wikimedia Spain, during the periods determined in each case by the applicable regulations,
- To address potential processing liabilities
- To make them available to the competent authorities
In compliance with legal obligations, the personal data will be definitively deleted ten years after the end of the associative relationship with Wikimedia Spain.
Rights (ARCO)
Interested parties have the right to access their personal data, as well as to request the rectification of inaccurate data or, where appropriate, to request its deletion when, among other reasons, the data is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.
Obviously, as indicated in the ‘Purpose’ section, the removal of the information from the association’s files means that you are no longer a member. You can exercise these ARCO rights by sending an email request to secretaria@wikimedia.es
